2014 Estes Park Youth Mission _DSC2682
Fifteen miles downstream from Estes Park is the village of Cedar Cove, where once stood 15 homes. Only six homes remained when the Poudre River receded. Two people died here.
Jim Rusch considers himself fortunate, for his home, though badly, damaged still stands. In this picture he indicates the level to which water rose in the garage next to his log cabin residence. Our kids worked in and around his property, removing brush a debris from a stream, repainting his deck and mucking out the garage. They had help from a team of volunteers from a Methodist church in San Antonio. Jim and Mary hope to be back in their cabin by the end of the summer.
